Kids’ Guernica to Support Two Affected Areas by the Earthquake of 3.11 in Japan

24 students of Hioka Junior High School in Hyogo Prefecture visited two affected places by the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami of 3.11 in Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to create two Kids’ Guernica murals.One was painted with children living in a temporary housing community in Higashi Matsushima City. And the other one was completed with students of Arahama Junior High School in Watari Chou. There have been continuing exchange programs between Hioka Junior High and Arahama Junior High School since the earthquake of 3.11. The image of handshake expresses the importance of solidarity.
